The Child Growth and Development

Watching your kid's growth during the early ages and child development stages is a wonderful thing.

If you can properly understand the stages of child growth, you can have a foundation for better parenting.

A young baby does more than eat, sleep and cry. Newborn babies have a remarkable way of displaying their unique individualities.

The Parents and Child Development

As a parent, it is important to have proper knowledge and understanding of early child development.

You should know the average age for children and the specific skills they should be able to do at certain stages in a kid's growth.

This will help you to properly assess the development of your child.

5 Steps in Child Growth and Development

1-One month during the first few weeks

A child can see 12 inches in distance, but by the end of one month, the vision expands to three feet. A child at this age can also recognize smells, hear sounds and start recognizing voices. This is the stage when they will start to move their heads and smile.

Children at this age gain a lot of weight. A baby growth chart includes the gain of a half-ounce to one ounce a day. The circumference of the head will also increase.

Due to the fast growth of children in this first month, a baby should do a lot of eating and sleeping. A healthy and functioning kidney will cause a baby to urinate at least six to ten times a day. However, breastfed babies may produce less.

2-One to Three Months

After one month, you can start enjoying the growing personality of your child. Personality is an important part of child growth. Facial expressions change and they will make noises in order to respond to sounds.

They may even start to track objects in order to find the source of a sound. At this point, most babies will start sleeping more during the night and less during the day.

3-Three to Six Months

This is a fun point in early childhood development since the behavior of a child becomes more predictable. Interacting with a child will cause smiles, hilarity, and babble.

The child will become more mobile and some advanced babies will start to crawl or drag themselves. Sometimes a baby will even sit if you prop them up.

A baby's growth chart shows that the birth weight will double within the fourth month. At this stage in childhood, development movements are more coordinated.

However, at this point in child growth, they also tend to explore things by using their mouth. They start combining certain sounds with specific objects. Teeth start appearing with the bottom, and center teeth erupting first followed by the two upper front teeth and then the two sides.

4-Six to nine months

at this stage in child development, intellectual and physical activities increase greatly. A baby will start to sit on its own without support. Before nine months, they will be able to sustain weight on their legs and some can even stand with support.

This part of child growth includes muscle and motor development. Often babble and crying become more of a vocalization.

However, at this stage children also become more anxious about their surroundings and strangers.

Several teeth erupt at this time and your baby will often start to eat solid foods such as cereal and fruits.

Interest in play increases greatly at this point and you will need to be on the lookout for minor accidents during this point in children's growth.

5-Nine to Twelve Months

At this point in the child growth chart, children are becoming toddlers and you will likely hear them speak their first words and take their first steps.

At this point in children's growth, they are more curious about people and their surroundings.

At this point in the child growth chart, the child will be able to pick up small objects and improve their communication abilities.

They will start making connections with their surroundings, apply new skills, and learn how to work things.

It is important that you allow your baby to play with a variety of objects at this point.

Interacting with your child is very important during all child development stages. It is important to understand the child growth chart and know what actions your child should be performing at different ages.

Keep a child growth chart on hand to track your kid's progress so you can become a more effective parent.
